It was one year ago tomorrow – October 29, 2018 – that Lion Air Flight 610 crashed off the coast of Indonesia. All 189 on board were killed.
The crash was the first of two involving the Boeing 737-MAX and would lead to the grounding of that aircraft worldwide.
In June, Rob Feldman, Keiko Feldman and Steve Holzer of Juris Productions traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia, to conduct interviews with families of 11 victims of the Lion Air crash.
Juris was hired by attorneys representing 14 of those families in wrongful death lawsuits against Boeing – including Brian Kabateck of Kabateck LLP – to produce a documentary that told the personal stories of some of those victims – and the toll their deaths have taken on their families.
That hour-long documentary accompanied letters sent to every member of Congress, urging them to support their bid by the attorneys to keep the wrongful death lawsuits against Boeing in the United States rather than transfer them to a court in Indonesia.
One year ago today, one victim was celebrating a daughter’s birthday while another was celebrating the news he was about to be a father.
24 hours later, they were gone.
